HALLSVILLE, TX (KLTV)- A man led authorities on a pursuit Thursday morning down Highway 80, just east of Hallsville.
Marshall Police say Jessie James Washington, 29, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Wood Streen and West Houston Street.
Police attempted to pull the driver over, who at first appeared to comply with officer's orders, but then quickly sped away.
The pursuit continued out of Marshall city limits, heading west on Highway 80 towards Hallsville.
The Harrison County Sheriff's Department joined in on the pursuit.
The car-chase came to an end when Washington's vehicle left Highway 80 near Fire Tower Road, where a foot pursuit ensued.
Washington was arrested and charged with evading arrest; he was also held on a Marshall Police Department warrant for speeding and a parole violation warrant from the Texas Department of Corrections in Austin.
The parole warrant is a non-bondable violation. Washington is being held in the Harrison County Jail, where he awaits transfer into TDC custody.
A passenger in the vehicle was detained, but was later released.
